Clinical Research at LA Glaucoma Group

LA Glaucoma Group has a longstanding commitment to clinical research in glaucoma. Dr. Krivoy has served as principal investigator in numerous clinical trials evaluating new surgical devices, drug delivery systems, and medical therapies for glaucoma — contributing to the development of treatments that are now available to patients nationwide.

Our participation in clinical research means that our surgeons have hands-on experience with emerging technologies before they reach the market. When a new treatment becomes available, our doctors have often already been using it in a research setting, giving our patients the benefit of that early expertise.

Our research focus areas include minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS) devices, sustained drug delivery implants for drop-free glaucoma management, novel IOP-lowering therapies, and new diagnostic and monitoring technologies. We have contributed to trials that led to the approval of treatments now in widespread use.

We periodically enroll patients in clinical trials when appropriate studies are available. Participation in a clinical trial may give eligible patients access to promising new therapies before they are commercially available, under close medical supervision. If you are interested in learning whether a clinical trial may be an option for you, please contact our office.

Dr. Krivoy also serves as a scientific advisor to ophthalmic technology companies and venture capital firms investing in the next generation of glaucoma and eye care innovation. This involvement in the broader innovation ecosystem keeps our practice connected to what's coming next — not just what's available today.
